As people across America recognize men and women who have served in the armed forces, students in Tarpon Springs' public schools will be in the classroom.

All Pinellas County Public Schools are open Monday, Nov. 12, the national observance of the holiday. Most government offices in Pinellas are closed.

Pinellas' public school students won’t have to wait long for some time off, though. Schools will be closed the week of Nov 19-23, for two days of professional development for teachers and for Thanksgiving break, according to the school district’s calendar.
