Epiphany 2014 Brrrrrr

Out at 9am rain started lightly and cold, the winds was knocking chairs in the water, with help from the local police, fishing them out with a pole. Many came early and stood waiting for the Epiphany Celebration of the cross divers and blessings.  The Manatees swam slowly like playing tag with divers. 20-30 people took their spots and hunker down.  I came back at 12 noon the crowd overflow to the streets and wet grass waiting soon for the Cross Divers.  Here they come, brave souls.  2 boat tip and sank leaving about 9 boys in the water, and finally the cross is thrown into the water, and a winner emerges. All shivering, but honored to be in the celebration.  Only one can win, Retriever is Peter Tommy Smith of Ellenton, I finally found his name but it seems some reporters have confusion so anyone feel free to correct me, I want the honor to go to the correct young man.  Who is now probably finally warm with the knowledge of his blessings and family and away from the cold water of the bayou.
