Pinellas County Jail Raises Awareness for Domestic Violence

On Monday, the Pinellas County Jail held an event that featured artwork and speakers to help raise awareness about domestic violence.

In the front lobby of the Pinellas County Jail  a sillhouette of a young girl with text on it reading "I think it's my fault" is featured prominently.

The silhouette, along with numerous other pieces of art, was part of the presentation the Pinellas County Jail put on for the Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Speakers from domestic violence support groups came to speak about their experiences, both good and bad, with the audience. One of the speakers was Lorraine Yaslowitz, whose husband was a sheriff's deputy who died in the line of the duty responding to a domestic violence call.
