Florida Hospital North Pinellas Receives Business of the Year Award

Located in Tarpon Springs, the hospital received the honor from the Tarpon Springs Chamber of Commerce.

The Tarpon Springs Chamber of Commerce has honored Florida Hospital North Pinellas as the 2012 Large Business of the Year.

Businesses were nominated by chamber partners and members before completing an interview process. The process included a written application detailing the nominee's contributions to the community as well as showing how they overcome obstacles in their business and highlighting their's as an ethical business practice.

From there, judges from outside the city of Tarpon Springs were brought in to interview the businesses face to face. Once the application and interview process are complete, the judges cast their votes for each business category.

Sue Thomas, president of the Tarpon Springs Chamber of Commerce, shared the judges' impressions of Florida Hospital North Pinellas. 

“What really impressed them about the hospital is that they have worked so hard with the community, the foundation and the people," Thomas said. "They were really impressed with their passion.”

Florida Hospital North Pinellas is a member of The Florida Hospital network of the Adventist Health System, the largest health care provider in the state. Each year, The Florida Hospital network cares for nearly one million residents and visitors.

Bruce Bergherm, President/CEO of Florida Hospital North Pinellas and Paul Hoover, Vice President of Business development at the facility were acknowledged by Thomas as true assets to the area, calling the duo compassionate and community oriented.

“We at Florida Hospital North Pinellas are in great company this year, having received our award alongside some of our community’s most well-recognized businesses," said Bergherm. "We look forward to a new day and a new year of service to our community in Tarpon Springs and all of North Pinellas." 

Thomas believes that the hospital draws return visitors because of the high level of professionalism and care.

“People will come back and continue to come back to Florida Hospital North Pinellas because of the comfort level and the quality of service," Thomas added.

As a 168-bed, full-service hospital, Florida Hospital North Pinellas serves both the Pinellas and Pasco communities of west-central Florida.
