2 Men Shot in Tarpon Springs, Shooter Still At Large

The incident took place near Florida Capital Bank.

Tarpon Springs Police officers are on the hunt for a man they say might be responsible for shooting two others Monday, Aug. 5.

The incident unfolded around 2:35 p.m. Monday when police responded to a call made by a Florida Capital Bank employee who reportedly heard gunshots nearby.

Police say the employee who made the call saw a man running from the scene. He was reportedly headed south on Walton Avenue on foot. 

Near the 710 E. Tarpon Ave. bank police found two men suffering from gunshot wounds. According to a release from the police department, the two men are "possibly transients."

Paramedics were called and the men were taken by Bay Flight to a hospital where they are being treated for life-threatening injuries. 

Police say the shooting suspect is still at large and was described as a man wearing red shorts and a white shirt. 

No further information about the man or the two shooting victims is available at this time.
