Prisoner Escapes From Tarpon Springs Work Release Center

Anthony Pruitt, 22, was last seen at the Brady Road facility around 8:30 p.m. Friday, the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Officials are searching for an inmate who escaped from the Tarpon Springs Work Release Center on Friday.

Anthony Pruitt, 22, was last seen at the Brady Road facility around 8:30 p.m., The Tampa Bay Times reports, citing the Tarpon Springs Police Department. A search that included police dogs and a helicopter reportedly turned up empty.

According to the Times:

Pruitt has been convicted of cocaine and marijuana possession, grand theft, and burglary, according to the state Department of Corrections. He is black, 5 feet 6 and 160 pounds. He has black hair, brown eyes, a flame tattoo on his right arm and a tattoo on his right hand that includes flames and "727."

We heard the helicopters, too. Did police use the reverse 911 call to let local residents know of the escape?
