Your child can start playing tackle football at age 5, but most play flag first. When these very…Read More young kids run into each other, it's not much of an impact to be honest. I'm not saying they never give each other a good hit because it happens occasionally. I never thought of it as dangerous, though.
One important note; if the helmet is making the hit, the kid is doing it wrong, and the coach will say so. A high impact helmet to helmet hit is dangerous. I watched my oldest nephew play football from age 7 into high school. He had a concussion which resulted from an under inflated helmet used during a hard hit in practice. He also had a huge helmet-to-helmet hit during a game.
The risk is real, but the benefits are many; confidence, competition, brotherhood, team play, and physical fitness, to name a few.

Being in automobile accidents causes more deaths, so do motor-scooters/motor-cycles, skateboards,…Read More etc....all kill more kids than football.....! Kids cannot be wrapped & stored away to keep them safe. They must learn to cope with and to withstand adversity.

I don't believe, as humans, that we should be given the right to hunt any species. Part of…Read More overpopulation is contributed to human ignorance (having these wild creatures as pets) and now they have to suffer for it - Beyond that - we shouldn't reward those for taking a life, any life, even that of a snake. This just completely disgusts me.

The attendance is a disgrace, but it is what it is. A radius around Pinellas limits everything to…Read More the west as just water, with no people. The population density within reasonable driving is limited by being on the coast. The issue is that not enough people go to the games.
How many people did the lightning draw when they were in the "Thunderdome" now known as the Trop? As I remember, they too had major attendance issues.
St. Pete is being stubborn & will make the entire area lose the team. If the Rays build a stadium where they want, right near the Lightning Stadium, they will draw more & baseball will let them stay even if attendance doesn't hit 30,000 a game.
Since Sternberg took over the uniforms have never said Tampa Bay. They just say Rays. They built a stadium in Port Charlotte which could tie in with them someday moving to Charlotte N.C. on the back burner.
It would help if the Yankee fans that live here wake up & realize that N.Y. is not their home & is 1,000 miles away & one of the best teams in Baseball belongs to their real home, but won't for long, if they don't wise up.
