Currents Launches Weekday Lunch Menu
The popular downtown restaurant is usually only open for dinner, but lunch is now available as well.
Although a number of businesses are closed Mondays in Tarpon Springs, Currents has remained open for dinner. Now, the upscale dining location is offering lunch hours, Monday through Friday, from 11:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.
Chefs Geneir De Conceicao and Donald Kirkpatrick are still perfecting the menu, but as of right now some of the plates include pineapple glazed chicken with shaved asiago ($8), pasta salad with shrimp, crab, grouper and salmon ($11) and N.Y. strip with a caramelized onion French dip ($10). Salads are also up for grabs and can be upgraded with chicken, salmon, grouper or shrimp.
Since I'm a vegetarian, the staff at Currents worked with me and created a meat-free pasta. Fresh rotini was prepared with a cream sauce and then topped with spinach and mushrooms. It was delightful to say the least and despite the lunch-sized portion, I had enough leftover for dinner that night.
