Man Robbed, Put in Chokehold
Myron Farley attacked a man he's known 10 years and took $10 from him, police say.
A Clearwater resident was arrested recently and accused of putting someone in a chokehold in Tarpon Springs and taking $10 from him.
A man was walking in the alley behind 711 Tarpon Ave. July 27 when he ran into Myron Farley, who he has known for a decade, according to an arrest report from the Tarpon Springs Police Department. But on this morning, Farley struck the man in the face with a closed fist, then put him in a chokehold.
Before he lost consciousness, the victim was able to turn his head and ask why. Farley took $10 from the victim’s pants pocket and fled.
Farley, 32, of 2025 Rogers St., Clearwater, was arrested Aug. 15 and charged with strong arm robbery. He was booked into the Pinellas County jail but later released after posting $20,000 bail.
