Tarpon Springs Police: Man Arrested After Using Cereal Bowl As Weapon

A Tarpon Springs man is awaiting trial after being arrested on a number of felony charges, including battery on a pregnant woman and possession of a controlled substance.

When officers responded to a call from a Tarpon Springs home, they found a battered pregnant woman and a roommate to back up her story.

Police say Eric Pellerin, 33, of Tarpon Springs, was arguing with an unidentified pregnant female when he threw a bowl of cereal at her. The victim said the bowl hit her. 

According to an arrest affidavit, as the argument continued, Pellerin grabbed the woman's arm and twisted it, resulting in "redness and pain."

The victim's roommate echoed the story to officers. Pellerin, on the other hand, denied touching the victim and told police they were never even "involved in a verbal argument."

Pellerin's bond is set at $10,000 and he is currently awaiting trial at the Pinellas County Jail. 

Other felony charges against Pellerin from the incident include possession of morphine, possession of alprazolam, possession of methadone, sale of opana, sale of oxycodone, possession of opana and sale of oxycodone.
